Revelation 15:5 brings us back to the Revelation timeline: “[John] looked, and behold, the temple… in heaven was opened.” But surprisingly, the temple is not opened to allow entry, but rather, “the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple” (Revelation 15:6-8).

A similar event is recorded in 1 Kings 8. As a part of the inauguration of the new temple, the priests took the ark of the covenant into the inner sanctuary of the temple. “When the priests came out of the Holy Place, the cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud” (1Kings 8:10,11). This story emphasizes that with the cloud of glory filling the temple, the ministry of priests was completed.

In this video, I explore the meaning of no one being able to enter the temple in the context of the final crisis.

The Final Crisis picks up where the Revelation timeline took its detour at the end of chapter 11, with the seventh trumpet. In this series, we will study the events relating to the Seven Last Plagues, the Battle of Armageddon, the fall of Babylon, and the Second Coming of Christ.

If you haven’t done so already, please review the other videos in the final crisis series to gain a better understanding of the context.
