Revelation 19 shifts the attention from events on earth to the heavenly kingdom/realm, where all heaven is celebrating the final and permanent defeat of Babylon.
“After these things [John] heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, ‘Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments” (Revelation 19:1,2).
With Babylon defeated, the focus of the heavenly hosts shifts from Babylon to something amazing. The heavenly beings closest to the throne lead the praise that erupts in heaven, knowing that the defeat of Satan’s Babylon enclave on earth means that the universe is now ready for the promised event that they have been waiting for so long – the marriage of the Lamb!

“[John] heard the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and mighty thunderings, saying, ‘Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready” (Revelation 19:6,7). Many commentators have assumed that the bride of the Lamb is the Christian Church. It is true that in passages like Ephesians 5:22-27 the Apostle Paul uses imagery comparing the relationship the church has with Christ to that of a wife to her Husband. However, in Revelation 21, we see that the bride of Christ is much more than just the Christian church.
